We believe Durham can be a prosperous and attractive place in which to live, work and visit by developing brownfield sites in the City and expanding the surrounding towns and villages. The proposals for relief roads in the Green Belt should be replaced by a sustainable transport strategy including cycling, walking and integrated public transport.
Our aims are:
• to keep Durham as a compact City protected by its Green Belt from speculative development
• to use brownfield sites in the City and sensitive expansion of suitable towns and villages
